Blyth RNLI crew from its Atlantic 85 inshore lifeboat have taken part in parachute flare training. The RNLI uses Pains Wessex flares.
The volunteer crew was briefed on how to fire white parachute flares and a demonstration also took place.
Blythe RNLI says, “We use the white parachute flare as a means for illuminating an area, especially when conducting a search.”
